In the second half of the '80s, as well as in that of the '90s, Diesel were active, the then band of the legendary, for the Greek and not only colors, drummer Loukas Sideras (Aphrodite's Child etc.). Diesel consisted basically, apart from Loukas Sideras, of guitarist Yannis Drolapa, singer and lyricist Sigma Fay and a bassist of course, who changed through the years. In fact, in 1992, with Jimmy Diakoumakos as bassist and Coti K. as sound engineer, they managed to release a mini-LP, Diesel, on MBI (its duration was less than 20 minutes), which probably went unnoticed and which now, by now, is hitting the shelves on discogs (it has even been sold for 80 euros).
The LP contains the five recordings for MBI on the first side, plus five more demo-tracks from the same era on the second side. On the first four (Side B) the bassist is Panagiotis Charamis, while on the last one Dimitris Daskalothanasis. Diesel's basic style is hard-rock/blues-rock, as it was played by British and American bands (and all the rest) in the early seventies.
Loukas Sideras in a note he has written innersleeve mentions influences from the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner (obviously because of Sigma Fay's vocals), Cactus, Patti Smith etc. There is no reason to doubt them. Just to note that I really liked this... Cactus...
