Αμα ειναι και Goldtop reissue του 56, τοε +1 και απο μενα!

 

Ναι + του 1959 που ειχα το ΦΑΑΑΑΑΑΑΑΑΑΡΔΟΣ να παιξω

Απιστευτο... περασαν 4 εργασιμες και την κιθαρα την κραταω αγκαλια  ;D....την εφεραν απ τα ελτα σπιτι...

Φινιρισμα κορυφαιο, ταστα απειραχτα,μπρατσακι λεπτο 60s,ευκολοπαιχτη γενικα...αυτο που παρατηρησα ειναι ποσο ζωντανο οργανο ειναι ...παλετε απ την κορυφη μεχρι τα νυχια.... :)

First off, the "golden era" Les Pauls were different in construction and materials nearly every year. The bridges and pickups were changing annually back then.

 

As far as Norlin era Gibson, I can easily disagree with anyone who believes it wasn't Gibson's finest hour. If anyone who disagrees has an open mind, they can see why many folk do BELIEVE was Gibson's, in particular Les Pauls, finest hour. Shall we take a look through history?

 

1950's: Year after year, redesign after redesign after redesign, the Gibson Les Paul was a total failure. This failure led to:

 

1960's: For most of that decade, there were no Les Pauls. And for most of that decade no one wanted them. It wasn't until the latter part of the decade that Les Pauls gained a little respect again. Even if many of the changes came about from prior Gibson ownership, that being realistically 1970, that many of the changes that Norlin is looked down upon. However, it didn't really matter because it led to the:

 

1970's: The true golden age of the Les Paul. It was the 1970's when Gibson Les Pauls really came into favor. While some players were rocking with 50's era Les Pauls, the overall guitar population were playing more modern one's. Besides being the guitar of many rock legends, people loved the versatility of their Les Pauls. These guitars were beloved because of the absolute greatness in sound, the cost (they were a workhorse guitar for little money) and the fact their owners could do anything they wanted to them, change the bridge, change the pickups, route the body, etc. and all of these modifications made the guitar an extension of their owners ability. It was these guitars that brought on the Les Pauls' greatest success in popularity.

 

1980's: During the early part of this decade Les Pauls were still pretty hot. Once the middle of the 80's hit, which happens to be when about Norlin sold off Gibson (hmmmmm???) that the Gibson Les Paul once again fell out of style. Now was the time of pointy guitars and super strats. And now was the time that Gibson was getting too expensive for the average player.

 

1990's: The pointy guitars and super strats are coming to an end. While some smaller guitar companies are on the rise, due to some well strategized endorsement deals, it's Fender's time to shine. Les Paul's are still highly regarded and drooled over, but so few could afford them. Around this time Gibson came out with more inexpensive models, of still pretty good quality. Still though, most players who weren't professional did not own a Les Paul.

 

2000's: Now Gibson Les Pauls are starting to get into the hands of the living room rocker again. Not because they are a great value, not because they were the best Les Pauls ever, but because the people who drooled over the Les Pauls in the 70's and 80's are now in a position in their life to afford such an extravagance. Because of this jump in sales, Gibson starts to make some horrible mistakes. First, their huge increase in production floods the market. Resale is about the worst it's ever been (percentage wise). Second, quality control is the worst it's ever been, especially considering how people spend in excess of two grand. People say the Norlin era of Gibson was the worst as far as quality control, but look just at MLP, nearly everyday someone has issues with their LP. How many LP's had to be returned to Gibson? The supply of good wood is left to the $5,000.00 guitars, leaving the rest of the guitars with slabs of wood that has to be weight relieved or chambered. Which leads us to Gibson's worst issue, only supplying guitars to the biggest companies. Instead of getting a guitar from someone who has been doing this job for years, and often the owner of the store, now you have to spend thousands on the words of an employee of a store that most likely quit or be fired within six months.

 

Truth is, many can argue that it was under Norlin that the Les Paul was truly in it's golden era. Look at the prices, a Deluxe in original condition costs much more than any Les Paul non custom shop, and a modified Deluxe sells for more than a used non custom shop Les Paul. This with the fact that the Deluxe was the Studio of the time. Look for a Custom, Standard, Artisan, etc model that's in good, non-modified condition and we are talking $3,000 on a bad day. Sure, folk can believe guitars from the 50's can just about walk on water because of their selling price, but those prices are what they are because they are rare and because collectors who don't even play, want them in their collection so they can feel cool. Seriously, who would pay $100,000.00 on a guitar and actually play it?

Ναι βέβαια το άρθρο του studio54 είναι κατά τη γνώμη μου απλά μια άποψη. Οποιοσδήποτε έχει παίξει κάποιες Norlins και Gibson Historics αντίστοιχα εύκολα μπορεί να χαμογελάσει διαβάζοντας το.

 

Ακόμη και αυτοί που τους αρέσει ο ήχος των T-Tops (και δεν είναι και πολλοί εδώ που τα λέμε) θα συμφωνήσουν ότι πολλές φορές (όχι όλες αλλά τις περισσότερες) τόσο το φυσικό resonance τσουγκράνας όσο και τα απαράδεκτο playability, ακόμη και τα looks που είχαν οι Norlin δεν είχαν καμιά σχέση με τις κιθάρες που έγραψαν ιστορία στο British Blues και που ουσιαστικά διαιώνισαν τη φήμη και την ιστορία της συγκεκριμένης κιθάρας μέχρι τις μέρες μας και στις οποίες βασίζονται πάνω κάτω οι σημερινές Historics.

 

Θα διαφωνήσω επίσης με το άρθρο για την αποτυχία των Les Paul τη δεκαετία του '50 και θα πρέπει απλά να σκεφτούμε ότι εκείνη την εποχή δεν υπήρχαν καν οι κατάλληλοι ενισχυτές για τέτοιες κιθάρες.

 

Η προσωπική μου εκτίμηση είναι ότι τόσο η Norlin Gibson όσο και η Fender την δεκαετία του '70 έβγαλαν μάλλον τις χειρότερες κιθάρες τους (για την Gibson μάλλον τα χειρότερα όργανα που έχω πιάσει ήταν των αρχών των 80s).
