Jamo's reputation took a hit in the early years of the 21st century when in an effort to halt declining sales, the company started to concentrate more on price than quality, and it fell even further from 2004 when production moved to China and standards fell even further. It's never really recovered, which is a pity because following a takeover by Klipsch Audio Technologies, the brand name appears from some very decent speakers. Back in the 1980s and 1990s, when Jamo speakers were still being made in Denmark just like this pair of Studio 170s, they were a popular choice and were very commonly seen hooked up to serious hi-fi buffs' systems.
