It’s able to drive power hungry amps and it was one of the few amps with sufficient current to really drive my previous Sonus Fabers Electa Amators. This pairing worked incredibly well but would work well with other types of speakers as well. It has a warm sonic signature with the wonderful glow of valves which can help de-sterilise an over analytical sound. Both and 8 and 4 ohm binding posts are available. I liked the 4 ohm taps for my 8 ohm speakers so you need to experiment a bit here.



It also responds well to upgrades, tweaks and mods with a lot flexibility depending on where you want to take it. There’s a number of mods already installed which I’ll talk about. Large vaue capacitors have been changed to Elna Cerefine, a number of smaller value caps changed to Hovland Musicaps, internal wiring changed to Discovery Signature cabling. Binding posts, RCA terminals all changed to better quality units. This was done early on and achieved more transparency and natural ease to the point where I didn't want to do more. However, I've heard that people have gone way beyond changing the transformers to Tango, etc but the existing transformers were said to be what made it sing so I was always hesitant to do more serious mods. The existing tube compliment are 8 x EL32 Electo Harmonix matched octex, 2 x 12AU7 (Philips NOS), 4 x 6DJ8 (Philips NOS) all have done less than 100 hours so should have lots life left. So as mentioned there's plenty of room for tube rolling here if want to further fine tune the sound to your preference.Mε 2 χ
